'The Secret Sharer (An Episode From The Coast)' is a 1912 short story by Joseph Conrad (1857-1924). The title 'The Ghosts Of Buried Centuries' comes from the short story 'Manuscript Found In A Bottle' by Edgar Allan Poe (1809-1849). The title 'The Land Of Verrucas And Water-Boatmen' was taken at random from an episode of the British TV gameshow 'Taskmaster' in which it was spoken by Greg Davies.
